The Logistics
How long are tutoring sessions?
Sessions lengths vary depending upon the age and developmental level of your child. While a standard tutoring session is 60 minutes, some young children may only be able to maintain concentration for 30 minutes. Other children may benefit from sessions of 90 minutes.
How frequently do you meet with my child?
The frequency of sessions will also vary depending upon the age and developmental level of your child. Initially, I tend to find that meeting twice, or even three times, per week is optimal in order to help your child with their skill development.
Should I do anything to prepare for our initial assessment?
Give some thought about your concerns and hopes for our work together. Let me know if you have assessments, teacher reports or other material that might help me better understand your child. And give me your sense of what works and what doesn't work with your child. But most importantly, don't worry! It's my job to get to know and help your child.
How do fees work?
I will discuss my current fees with you on the initial call. Fees are determined based on session length. I accept cash or Venmo as forms of payment.
