About
I'm a native Californian, living on the Westside for over 30 years and in the Westchester community for over 15 years. It is the place my husband and I raised our family and we call home. I'm grateful to serve my community through my work as a tutor and teacher. Let me share a little bit about my background experiences and skill set that I bring to my profession.
I'm proud to be a Triple Bruin, having received three degrees from UCLA! I received my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), then I continued on to receive my Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education and Teaching Credential. Later, I returned to UCLA to earn a Masters degree in Public Health (M.P.H.).
I have taught in multiple school districts. My initial position was teaching a K-1 combination class (mix of kindergarten and first graders) in the San Diego School District. I returned to LA where I taught a bilingual 1-2 combination class (mix of first and second graders) in the Inglewood School District.

After receiving my M.P.H., I worked in several positions with an emphasis on maternal child health. I was the Director of Patient and Community Services for the Arthritis Foundation where I ran a camp for children with arthritis. I worked for Cal-Learn, a statewide program to help pregnant and parenting teens complete high school, become independent and form healthy families. I also worked for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, a federal program which provides food, nutritional counseling and education for pregnant women and mothers with children up to age five. Here I was both a Site Supervisor and Director of Health Education.
I left the paid work force to be a full-time mother, raising three children. My two sons are now in college, while my daughter is in high school. I homeschooled my daughter for her third grade school year. I'm incredibly proud to see each of them thrive in their diverse pursuits!
I returned to teaching in the Junior Kindergarten classroom at St. Anastasia. Then during the pandemic, I taught a pod of six third and fourth graders. Pod teaching allowed my to more fully tailor my teaching to the individual needs of the student.
My California Multi-Subject Clear Credential certifies me to teach multiple subjects in grades K-8. My focus has been on working with children from pre-school through fourth grade. I have a special passion teaching children to read, having received advanced training to hone this skill.
I have the education, I have diverse experiences. But the most important thing to know about me is the joy I receive when I see children learn, grow, and thrive!
